Evangelicals Award Trump Presidency

The election went the right way and the republicans won the top job and now have all three houses.  The Republican party is now at a crossroads to decide who and what we will become and to run from what we had become under the failed legacy of family dynasties, career politicians, and crooked lawyers.  Trump has one factor to thank for his win and that is the fear by evangelical Christians that Clinton SCOTUS appointments would totally destroy our Judeo-Christian heritage and moral standards which have come under attack by both parties leadership.  Trump pandered to our people as best he could not be a church going man or even with a tacit understanding of The Bible and its guidance for our lives.  Furthermore, this writer doubts that any of the Trump transition team or potential cabinet members are in a Christian church of any denomination today or that they will be attendees during the Trump administration other than a special event or a funeral here and there.  We evangelicals have to trust that Trump will appoint strict constitutionalists to the SCOTUS and that they might help return our future back to a more God fearing nation where moral standards apply and Christians can be assured of our freedom but, we are not naive enough to blindly assume Trump even understands this importance much less will actually execute accordingly.  We fear he will flip flop on most matters but again, we hope we are wrong and he does evolve into a great leader who will honor his campaign promises to evangelicals.  We have 2018 and 2020 to correct his failures by electing our people if he does not carry through.

  1. That’s all we want to give him a chance. We know he does not tread on water. No one is perfect except the one who made all this happen. Our hope (as an Evangelical) lies not with man but with God. But I’m JOYFUL and THANKFUL for now that the right person was given this opportunity. It’s amazing how he’s managed to make History like this. The numbers favored him even over Mitt and John McCain. So let’s give this man a fair chance without criticizing every thing he does. That would be mean and very UN-Christian like.
